Merry merry Christmas

Merry FrEaKiNg ChRiStMaS yall!!!!! This was really awesome week so buckle up for the ride! So Wednesday around dinner time we get this call from a Sister out in the Long Beach Visitors Center and she had a referral for us to go see! So this lady Ms. Odeal she is freaking solid! She teaches her primary aged kids at her local congregation out of the Book of Mormon because she knows its true and knows its "the breath of God"! Shes freaking awesome so she totally fell into our hands and what a blessing it is I'll tell ya! We are gonna go see her again this week and she what she thought of the Restoration!

We also have this 14 year old kid and his momma were working with and the kid came to mutual last Wednesday and liked it and then came to basketball then made sure we had him a ride to church Sunday..it was so cool to see how much he liked it! We also got a member referral and he is a senior in High School and he just wants to know what is true and how to follow it hes such a good guy and genuinely wants to know the truth!!! So freaking Gnarly!

Saturday my Companion and I had to opportunity to freaking go to Wichita for a baptism of one of our old investigators! (Elder Saari replaced me in the Bel Aire ward! So he taught my Investigators too.) And on the way up there were talking about how cold it is outside (22°) and i was like I would never wanna be stuck in that! Then we blew a tire..... the front right tire just shredded off..... so now we are stuck outside in the freezing cold holding a metal rod trying to put on the spare! Hahaha only my luck could make that happen!
But the girls baptism we went to, her name is Vadia shes freaking awesome! Shes 10 or 11 years old and just a ball of positivity! She's so funny after the baptism she was smiling so big and her bishop went over to talk to her and said "Do you think Jesus is smiling as big as you are?" And Vadia says "No....... way bigger!" Shes so freaking awesome!!!!! So after the baptism we went out to lunch so i got to talk to my old comps again! All 3(LaMont, Miller, and Saari) of my companions were there it was pretty LEGENDARY!

Then Sunday we had church and we had a hymn sunday so pretty much anyone in the congregation could pick a Christmas hymn and go talk about why they liked it and then we all would sing it!! It was awesome! And Christmas was awesome! I loved talking to my family their freaking awesome! Its really cool being on a mission because for me at least I didn't care really what I got but I was like a kid on Christmas when i was waiting to talk to my family! I love y'all so much! Keep being studs!

Y'all it feels like its been forever!!!!!!!! And this past week was busy as freak!!! We did sooooo much. Monday we had FHE that was so fun! We always have a good time! We met this kid Cedric there hes the cousin of a member and he is looking to find the true church! So awesome this kid is super freaking cool!!!!!!!!! We taught him a little bit about the church then and then set up a return appointment!

Then Tuesday we got to help some members move and that was awesome! Then they came and helped us out with a lesson with Bryan! Bryan is so solid he just needs to feel ready then he will be baptized! So awesome he has been to church like 7 times now and truly pays attention and truly wants to know its so awesome!

Wednesday we had Zone Conference and it was so awesome we did a lot of stuff related to the Christmas season! We watched a couple Nativity videos and you could just feel the spirit so strong!!!  We also did the 12 days of Christmas and acted it out it was legendary hahaha. It was really awesome we also got these really dope t shirts (thanks mom and dad)! We also got Christmas letters from mom pops and d-bolicious! Y'all are amazing! I gots the best family ever!!!!!!!!! You guys are awesome!

Then Thursday we did a lot of service! We helped this lady with her trampoline and also help put up Christmas lights! It was so gnarly! Their so cool! Then we met with Darron one of our investigators hes really cool! But the other 2 appointments we had cancel on us! Booo!!!

Then Friday was freaking lit! It was a total blast! It was probably the best day of my mission so far when it comes to missionary work! We had lunch with the Senior Missionary couple and the rest of our district! Then we went and had a lesson with this guy named Shane and he is such a cool dude and we talked with him for a while and we just shared the Nativity scriptures in Luke 2 with him and invited him to church and our Christmas party that night. Then we went to Darron's house and we talked to him about The Gospel Of Jesus Christ and what it is! And it was so cool! He really liked it i thought and you could just feel the spirit there with us!! Then we thought our appointment with Cedric was canceled but he ended up calling us saying he still wanted to meet and so we rushed over there and we taught him the restoration! It was so awesome and you could honestly reach out and touch the spirit it felt like it was so strong and so peaceful! Hes such a good kid and really wants to learn and know the truth! It was so awesome! Then we had the Branch Christmas Party! We had 3 investigators there! It was so cool to see them there and mingle with the branch! Y'all this branch is one big happy family! Its incredible! They had a talent show and it was freaking amazing!!!!!!! All the people who preformed was really good!

Then Saturday we had service with the Johnson Family again and it was really awesome! Then we were just out and about for the rest of the night.

Sunday was wack i was pretty sick and had to miss church and just stay in and sleep all day it was miserable! But we ended up having a couple investigators at church and a couple investigators attend the Mission President Devotional! I was pretty upset I didnt get to go to that!

Yesterday was interesting! We had interviews and that was really fun! We drove up to Manhattan for that and that went really good! Then the rest of the day i got to spend inside again! I was feeling a little better but another elder in the district got super sick so we both just stayed inside and slept pretty much!

So this morning was so cool! We just got out of the Temple and all i can say is WOW!   I love you guys!

#lighttheworld

Hey Y'all! This week was so fun! We did so much stuff! We was busy as crap! So Monday we had FHE.... of course hahaha we love it! We played this game called 4 corners and its to complicated to explain so ill save y'all some reading and a headache lol. But just know its fun! We had an investigator there her name is Julisa! She's so cool! She just moved here from Cali! She is really solid!

Then on Tuesday we met a lot of people we spent almost all day finding people! Haha guys we sat on this one guys porch and talked to him for like 45 min about his life! It was so cool! We didnt talk to much about the gospel but it was good. I can talk about nothing with people forever..... imma let you guys in on a secret that I talk to much haha crazy huh! But then later that day we had another lesson with our investigator Bryan! Hes super dope! We have been teaching him for ever!!!!!! He is so close to baptism but he doesnt want to commit to something hes not ready to be all in with! Its so awesome because the Quorum of the 12 said "we need to be teaching repentance and baptizing CONVERTS" so thats awesome hes taking the time to be truely converted and not jump into something he isn't ready for!

Then on Wednesday we made dinner for a family in the branch and we got to eat it with them! It was so awesome they are amazing! They are battling some illness' right now so I offered to cook for them cuz they always cook for us! That was a really good time!

Then Thursday we spent a lot of time knocking doors. We knocked this appartment door and no one answered so we knock the one across from it and no one answered and as were going to leave the first door we knocked opened the door by "coincidence" and we got to chat with him them and then went back the next day and then have another appointment with him on Tuesday! Then we also met another guy and him and his family are interested in the gospel!

Then Friday we got to help some members move! It was so much fun! I love doing service cuz you always are seeing people smile and happiness is so contagious! Then Saturday we helped that same family we help every Saturday with yard work again and that was awesome! Then we also met some new people to teach! Then on Sunday we sang in church again! We sang Silent Night and we did a lot better this time lol! I mean could it have been worse! 😂😂😂

This week was really awesome especially doing the whole #lighttheworld stuff! Its so awesome to get out there and serve! Another really cool moment is we 2 weeks ago we had a branch fast for missionary work with members and we had this member come to church and she brought a friend to church! It was so cool to see the results of that so quickly! I love y'all! Oh also P.S. we are going to the temple next Tuesday so that will be freaking amazing!

Love

Then we met this guy Adante hes a really cool guy! We were knocking on this guys door seeing how he has been and he answers and we chit chatted a little bit then i asked him if he remembered anything about the message we shared last time and then adante's pops open the door and walks out and says i wanna hear a message! It was so cool! Then that night we had an appointment with Bryan! We watched the hour long Restoration film! It was so solid!!! He said "This movie is really awesome i really feel like i watched a history movie and not a fictional one" that was so cool! Then Thursday we ate at the church and we had a couple of investigators there. Then we went to a members house it was so awesome! Kansas has super awesome people! I love them all!!!! Then that night we went to the institute building and played pool! That was fun! Then Saturday we cleaned the church and then went and did more service! We helped that same family as last week with more yard work! It was awesome! Then we went and saw a couple people! Then we played basketball with some investigators and that was awesome!!!! Then sunday we had church  we went to the ward again! All the talks were amazing during the ward. Then during the branch i got to speak! I spoke on the topic of Happiness and gratitude it was so awesome. At least i hope so hahaha it was awesome for me learning about it hahaha here's a few things i used in my talk!

Pres. Gordon B Hinkley once said :
“How magnificently we are blessed! How thankful we ought to be! … Cultivate a spirit of thanksgiving for the blessing of life and for the marvelous gifts and privileges each of us enjoy. The Lord has said that the meek shall inherit the earth. (See Matt. 5:5.) I cannot escape the interpretation that meekness implies a spirit of gratitude as opposed to an attitude of self-sufficiency, an acknowledgment of a greater power beyond oneself, a recognition of God, and an acceptance of his commandments. This is the beginning of wisdom. Walk with gratitude before him who is the giver of life and every good gift.”
D&C 78:17-19
Verily, verily, I say unto you, ye are little children, and ye have not as yet understood how great blessings the Father hath in his own hands and prepared for you;
And ye cannot bear all things now; nevertheless, be of good cheer, for I will lead you along. The kingdom is yours and the blessings thereof are yours, and the riches of eternity are yours. And he who receiveth all things with thankfulness shall be made glorious; and the things of this earth shall be added unto him, even an hundred fold, yea, more.
Alma 34:38
38 That ye contend no more against the Holy Ghost, but that ye receive it, and take upon you the name of Christ; that ye humble yourselves even to the dust, and worship God, in whatsoever place ye may be in, in spirit and in truth; and that ye live in thanksgiving daily, for the many mercies and blessings which he doth bestow upon you.
I was reading in 2 Nephi 5 and i read in verse 27 and it says:
2 Nephi 5:27
And it came to pass that we lived after the manner of happiness

So then i went back and studied on how they were able to live in that happiness and in verses 11&15-17 it says:
2Nephi 5:11&15-17
11) And the Lord was with us; and we did prosper exceedingly; for we did sow seed, and we did reap again in abundance. And we began to raise flocks, and herds, and animals of every kind.
And I did teach my people to build buildings, and to work in all manner of wood, and of iron, and of copper, and of brass, and of steel, and of gold, and of silver, and of precious ores, which were in great abundance.
And I, Nephi, did build a temple; and I did construct it after the manner of the temple of Solomon save it were not built of so many precious things; for they were not to be found upon the land, wherefore, it could not be built like unto Solomon’s temple. But the manner of the construction was like unto the temple of Solomon; and the workmanship thereof was exceedingly fine. And it came to pass that I, Nephi, did cause my people to be industrious, and to labor with their hands.

Thank yall so much for all the birthday wishes and everything! Yall are awesome! I love yall so much (yes even you Damarcus).

P.s. I will be staying in Junction City for another 6 weeks at least my new companion will be Elder Saari (Sorry)!

A lottaaaaa stuff

So this week was really awesome!!!!!!! On Monday for FHE we played Volleyball and YOOOOO that got intense it was so fun hahaha took me back to the ole days when I used to be in High School. Then through out the week we had a lot of really solid appointments with a lot of really cool people!!! I love everyone here in Junction City y'all its a fetchin blast!! We always smile and have fun when were out and about!!! On Friday we had a really cool experience! So for zone conference we met in Topeaka! And that was so cool Elder Vern. P Stanfill was there and he's a General Authority and it was so awesome! While were shaking everyones hand and givin people hugs and stuff I get up to him and he reaches out for a handshake and i went in for a hug hahaha it was pretty awkward at first not gonna lie hahahaha but then we started to chit chat for a quick second! He's a really awesome guy! But at the end of Zone Conference we got to do a Q and A with him it was soooooo lit yall!!! I learned so much from him in 2 hours then I ever thought possible!

Then on Saturday we got to do service for this family where everyone is having some health problems and we got to help them out! It was so much fun I'm happy my dad taught me hard work growing up so now I know how to smile through hard work!!!! Then that day also Ian came down to visit me again! I fetchin love that guy!!!! He's such a baller! He actually had the opportunity to bear his testimony to Elder Stanfill after a devotional! How awesome is that! He is gonna be one stud of a Missionary!
Then that night there was a baptism in the ward adjacent to us so we got to attend that as well as teach a quick lesson during it so that was awesome! Two of our investigators were there! It was so awesome! They both mentioned they could feel the spirit there!!! Then us missionaries in our District had a fast for missionary work in the area! It was so awesome I didn't eat from about 3 PM on Saturday until about 6 PM on Sunday! I have no clue how i did it yall! It was wack but i know God will bless me/us for it! Then on Sunday we had 2 investigators at sacrament and they enjoyed it! And I finally found out my topic I will be speaking on for next Sunday! I will be talking about Gratitude, Positivity, and Happiness!

Side story: I actually had my talk written mostly when it deleted itself randomly from my tablet, so i wrote it again and then it deleted itself again. So i prayed on what I need to talk about again and I have a new topic so hopefully I got it right this time hahaha

Since this week is Thanksgiving here are a couple of things im GRATEFUL for:
My family! I love all of them so much! Honestly when i left i knew id miss them but not this much! When i was sitting in church on Sun. I saw this boy scratching his moms back and it made me wish i could be doing that to my mom and it made me miss her so much! Its funny how often i think of them like when im out working every little thing about work reminds me of my dad! Every time i laugh i think of Aubrey (my sis). Every time I see people doing crazy stuff I think of Damon (my bro)  hahaha. And i think of my mom when ever my craving for any drink happens hahaha! But really those are just a few examples of when i think about them! Im not homesick or anything it actually helps me out haha they motivate me to be so much more then what I am right now!

The Church: just glat out my life would be wack with out it. I would be down a rough path and probably miserable right now this church brings so much peace into lives!

The Scriptures: they give so much guidance for us and how we should be living and what we should be doing!

The atonememt: it lets me know Jesus Christ knows what is happening to me at every moment and knows all of my feelings! It helps me so much and it strengthens me to be and act more then i ever would alone!

I love all of y'all so much!

The singing french Barber

Yall im sorry but this week was wack..... it was wack in a couple of ways hahaha to say the least it was a roller coaster of emotions!
So to start off. Monday for Family Home Evening we played spoons..... y'all that was lit!!!!!! Hahahhaa it was so funny we were all diving all over the table for spoons and we were all just having a blast! Then through out the week my apartment turned into a barber shop so that was lit! But all week we were practicing our song to sing in church and y'all wow can i say were the next best thing.......

Then  Wednesday we had interviews with Pres. That was awesome! Then we had exchanges that night so I was out and about with my District Leader that was aight! We met a few pretty Dope people!!! Their all pretty swagadocious!
Then  Thursday I woke up with a COLD ahhh i was so upset so I dealt with that for a couple of days.
But  Thursday we met with Stefan (he's a French speaker) and hes from Ivory Coast! Hes so cool so I taught a lot of that lesson in French that was so cool to see! His wife Yolanda is super cool! She speaks ZERO English. So I spoke only French to her!!! It was super awesome!
Then Friday we stayed in cuz I was too sick to be productive! Then  Saturday IAN CAME UP AND SURPRISED ME! It was so cool! He is such a hoot! So we went out and did missionary work with him and had him meet some new members! It was awesome to see him again! And then  Sunday...... ohhh.....Sunday.. lol we had 4 investigators at church this week it was totally Gnarly!!!!! Except they heard our song....... hahahahahhahaha it was rough y'all...... boy oh boy....... all week long we had a member of the Bishopric join our practice and he kept saying "do exactly what you did their but better....." or "Just keep practicing" hahahahaha and wellllll....... ummm to say the least,  elder Bryan messed up a couple words and elder Neser well i couldn't hear him and me lol my throat stopped working at the end lol. Can you just imagine me going up and singing in church lol it was rough i felt so bad for those people having to hear it..... probs killed the spirit that was there...... and i was totally congested like LA traffic and couldn't even hear mg own voice lol..... it was good though hahaha a lot of people said we did good! I was just waiting for the lightning to zap them for lying in the church.  Also really good news! Vaida the little girl from back in Bel Aire the one we were teaching like every day has decided she wants to be baptized on the 25! So as of now Im planning on going to that baptism!!!!!

Love,

Another week another story

Hey yall whats cracka lackin?!?!?! But anyways lets cut to the chase like a race. So Monday was FHE and that was stinkin solid!!!!! Our investigator Patrick who stopped us last week didn't show but hey that's okay! Then Tuesday was Halloween........ Y'ALL...... IT SNOWED ON HALLOWEEN........I WAS SO SAD I ALMOST CRIED!!!! Also on Halloween Sonic was having 50 cent corn dog day and ya boy had 10 🤗🤗🤗 hahahaha i was so impressed with myself!!! Later that day we had a super solid lesson with an investigator named Bryan!!!    Y'all it was so awesome!!! If only y'all could've been there!!!!

Wednesday was rough I felt pretty sick and same with my comp so we tried to work but it was pretty ineffective not gonna lie but hey we gave it our best shot!
Thursday was really cool! We met up with this lady Leslie and taught her the Restoration and that was really cool! She completely understood EVERYTHING! it was gnarly!  Then we had a super cool lesson with the Roth family! We taught them the plan of salvation at the church! It was really awesome! Their daughter (who is 9)  had so many questions so that was fun hahaha! But they said they want to be baptized they just want to know what their getting into first which is perfect cuz I would hate for them to go Less Active... Then Friday all of our stinkin appointments bailed on us so we just walked around trying to find people. But that night these members invited us over for their taco bar party so we were their with a lot of their non member friends and right before we left we gave a really cool lesson on positivity and being happy! So that was awesome! Hopefully their friends are more accepting to missionaries now hahaha! But it was so fun cuz the kids were all gathered around us like we were cool or something lol.

Saturday we had another really awesome lesson with our investigator Bryan we had a member help with the lesson and they clicked and had a really awesome conversation and it was so cool to be a part of!!! Then later that night we had a church tour with Patrick and his wife and 2 kids! It was so awesome we had a couple of members tag along with that too! It was so awesome they really like what they hear about the church and are really excited to get the ball rolling!!! We had members help with EVERY LESSON this week!!! The members here are fetchin solid!!!! They love missionary work and help us out so much with any and everything!!!!

Sunday one of our investigators bore his testimony! That was....... interesting hahaha but cool!!!! Y'all soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I got thrown under the bus with a couple other elders to sing in church sunday,  so please be prepared for that.............  also while going thru one of the closets we see this doll being hung by a noose.... y'all my jaw dropped straight to the floor hahaha it was so shockingly hilarious hahahahahahaha only I would find that!!!! I instantly thought lol i remember when I was a deacon hahahaha.

I love you all so much!!!!!!!!!!! Stay safe!!!!

P.s. my address is if you want to send letters.... by all means I'll respond hahaha! 😂😂😂

WHAT A WEEK!!!!!!

HEY Y'ALL!!!!!!
So this week was pretty interesting so go grab your popcorn I will wait a second......................... okay so well every Monday we do FHE (Family Home Evening) and so a lot of members of the branch go and have a little game night thing so we went and had some investigators there and that was a HOOT y'all let me tell you what! We played GIANT Jenga hahaha it was fun and our investigators had fun too! Then Tuesday we did a lot of walking around (Y'ALL we had to have walked 15-20 miles no joke) but it was so cool everyone we talked to was so nice and willing to chit chat at least! That was so awesome! We met a guy Shane and he is actually really good friends with some recent converts in the branch so that was pretty gnarly!!! Then Wednesday we did a lot of walking again but not as much luck hahaha but its okay we had a trunk or treat fundraiser for the cub scouts at the church so that was a blast! We had some investigators go to that and they seemed like they had a pretty dun time so that was cool! I mean lets be honest there was free candy how is that not just the time of your life?!?!?!?! Then Thursday we had some appointments and they all went super solid! We met with Shane again and we had his buddy come along with us! It was so cool we taught him the whole restoration! It was awesome. His whole previous knowledge of the church came from South Park and The Book of Mormon play so that was interesting! Then  Friday we went on day exchanges with the ward elders because one of them knew where some French people lived so I went with him for that and that was so cool! I knew a lot more then I thought I did haha it was way cool! We met so many cool non-French people too and a few of them came to church!!!! Also that night we had our Branches trunk or treat and we had a few investigators there too! it was so fun!!!! There was a chili cook off and YO some of them were two words...... 🔥(fire emoji)
Saturday we got a text from a member saying him and a ton of non member friends are playing football and they want us to come!!!!! Y'all FOOTBALL came in handy i'll tell ya what! Lol  we played on the military base with a ton of Army guys haha it was a freaking blast and we got to leave them with a lesson it went so good!!!!! Then on Sunday it was Stake Conference and that was so good!    Haha its always funny to look back at all the technical problems hahah we had a investigator at it and i can only imagine what was going thru her head... it was so embarrassing! It went from primary aged kids singing to Mo-tab back to the kids then to a pic of Jesus Christ then to a talk then back to Mo-tab then to the talk then the talk would be on like a 10 second loop. Haha it was like a remix! Hahaha could've thought my dad had his turn tables hooked up to it lol!

After church we went to go see this guy who was meeting with the sisters a good bit and he fell off the face of the earth when they left and so we tried stopping by one last time and he was there!!!!!! So awesome so were gonna meet with him again this week Im so stoked! Then as we were walking to our next appointment we were walking and this car is driving idk maybe 30-35 down the street then as it gets even to us it slams on its breaks and i was like oh shoot here we go hahah i just got caught in a drive by of course.... my luck..... but nope hahaha this guy hops out the car runs up to us and says "Hey are y'all LSD missionaries?" So i say "HaHa close were the LDS missionaries!" Then he said "oh shoot that's right haha well I met with some sisters before I moved and I'd really like to find the congregation out here! I really like y'alls church!" It was so cool so we talked to him for a little bit but he should be coming to FHE Monday!!!!!
Well that's it for this week I love yall!
Be safe!
