W.o.W........Week of Wack

This week was so emotionally confusing idk even how to describe it. It was Fan-freaking-tastic but wanted to cry more than watching Seattle throw the ball on the 1 yard line. Now time to esplain myself. So last Sunday we met this guy named Kyle and he is really good friends with Erika. So we got to teach him with one of our members and he had a LOT of really good questions and we got to answer and explain! It was awesome! We ended up being able to teach him like 3 times this week and it was amazing! He met 2 different members and even said wants to come to church!!!! Through out this week we did a lot of door knocking too and we found some pretty cool people to teach! But we got a call late into the week and asking if we could sing with another member at a funeral. ......... really what...... me..... again? Did we not learn the last 2 times?? Hahaha i have no clue why i have to keep singing.... this is the 3rd time! We sang "Bright Beam Our Fathers Mercy" because it was his FAV song. So that actually worked out pretty good! Better than my other times hahaha. Then Sunday comes around and we had 3 of our people come to church! That was good! We had Kyle even show up! And it was so awesome he was taking notes and was listening very intently! It was so good! But then after church and after a meeting we had we went to go talk to him about church. And he pretty much said "yo, being mormon aint for me." And we talked to him a lot and tried to see whats holding him back. And it all just stems from a testimony of the Book of Mormon. Its so important we all have that because there are some REALLY REALLY SPIRITUAL churches out there but their missing something very important and that's the Priesthood. With out that its just mans church but with it its truly Christs Church. And that's what the Book of Mormon brings because IF its actually scripture and true THAN Joseph Smith truly translated it by the power of the Priesthood!

Transfers and Miracles

This week was LeGeNdArY. So my comp is Elder Curtis he's from Murray Utah and lived in Vegas before Utah for like 10 years. He played football and bball in high school. He's really cool really good missionary and just out of training! 

So early this week we just kinda got Thompson ready to leave to Junction City and said bye to lots of members and people we're teaching! Then at transfers we went down a little early so I could visit with a couple people in Bel Aire i saw Ian and Bro Conrady! 

Then since we got back from transfers it's been go go go! I LOVE IT! We have seen and taught tons of people! We met Erikas mom who is now super open to the gospel! We met her friend who's pretty open to learning too! It's so cool we've met lots of people who want to learn more! She talks about us all the time to her family and friends hahaha it's so awesome!!!!!!!!!! We are also teaching this Part member family who the dad used to be a football coach at a school here hahaha it's lit! We have so much stuff happening here it's amazing! So exciting to be apart of it!!!! 

We'll that's pretty much my week I love y'all!

Transfers this week!!

This week was AH-MAZING! It started out with a really awesome lesson with Erika! We went to their place and had an awesome lesson just about the basics of our beliefs! It was so cool to hear her talk about how she knows it's no coincident she met us the night she did and stuff like that it was so awesome! Then Tuesday we had interviews with good ole President McCuistion! And it was really good! Great experience! Then Wednesday we had our first correlation meeting with our new ward mission leader! He's so Awesome! Very very in tune with the spirit! We had a lot of good things here happen! We had 2 people tell us they want to be baptized after they learn a little bit more! It has been a very very very eventful week! Saturday we had exchanges and I went out with Elder Clawson and we went to see lots of people from the area and invite them to church! It was awesome to see all them! Then Sunday we had Erika and her daughter Ella Kate come to church! It was so amazing to have them join us! They loved it they said! Then later that day we got to Skype our fam! Gosh I love them so much!! I had a great week I love you all so much! I will be staying here in Hutch for another 6 weeks and be companions with Elder Curtis! He's from Utah and played football! That's all I know! Oh yah we also explored a meth house ask about that when I get home hahaha!

CINCO DE MAYO and 10 Months

This week was crazy fast y'all like good guac! Lots of really cool things happened this week! So Tuesday we went on exchanges and i got to go out with Elder Grandy! We got to go to a small town called Mt. Hope! While we were there we met this lady Ilene and we got to talk to her about the Plan of Happiness and when started testifying and the Spirit was super strong and all of a sudden you could see it light a fire in her and boom all of a sudden she was like "I got to go..... people are in my basement bye. *Slam*" The Spirit hit her so hard she got shook it was so incredible to watch her Spirit know the truth of what we say but she had no clue on what to do! 
Another really cool experience is when we were out seeing some Less Active members we met this really awesome family named the Radkes! So she is a member and hasn't come in 40 years because her husband isn't a member and she wants to have a good relationship with him! She still has a very strong testimony and knows the church is true! It was so cool and he is such a really good guy! He's suuupperrrr funny guy! We have been knocking so many doors trying to find the 1 we need to and we have been pouring  our heart and soul into this area! I love this place so much dude its so amazing! 

We got in contact with Erika this week (the lady who texted last week) and have a lesson with her  tonight! She's so awesome!  We are gonna be talking to her and her daughter too! And Sunday we got to do service for the Red Cross and put fire detectors in homes and that was so awesome we got to get into lots of houses and put a good name for the church out! We even saw people who had pass along cards in their homes hahahaha!

 Well that's pretty much the bulk of my week I love you all so much!!

A tough week so we got creative

This week was a really tough week in all honesty. But its a good week cuz there was a lot i needed to learn and i did! So thats good! But this week was filled with canceled appointments and slammed doors! Its okay though it led to really funny convos! We decided we had enough of the door slamming so we hot chalk and drew on park side walks! So that was really cool! We decided we'd draw near the High School here too and when we did we met 2 girls who were super awesome and really wanted to learn who lived in our area! It was GNARLY!

We went out to that really small town again to eat at that place but this time we went as a district and we had a member come with us! And it was FIRE as usual! But when we were going home the member was driving (hes 72 but has the energy of a 12 year old) and i realized we had missed our exit so i look down to pull it up on the GPS and in the 3 seconds i look down hes already half way up a "DO NOT ENTER" EXIT RAMP! There was this GIANT truck making its way to mess us up lol! It was so scary! Luckily he pulled over right in time and we were safe! Talk about energy drink wow that'll get your adrenaline pumpin!! 

We got to do a LOT of service which i LOVE so that was a blast! We helped with a move, mowed a lawn, loaded a truck up with garbage to take to the dump, and built a sidewalk all in 2 days!  it was so much fun on the side walk one we did it with bricks and i got to lay the bricks down and while doing so i realized why we were there that day. It was so i can realized you cant just set out saying i'm gonna have a perfect life, get into someones house, get someone to listen, have the spirit, (fill in your goal) until you lay each individual brick down right that whole side walk was not 1 three hour project but thousands of 1 second projects to make sure each brick was laid to the best ability! It was really cool! 

Sunday was a tough day I hated the world the moment church was over and was just being a cry baby honestly! But no one listened to us,  no one kept their appointment and lastly we were getting stuff thrown at us and y'all know how short my fuse is a lot of the time and in the moment i wanted to rip someones head off but i just stopped and thought about how much the Savior had to endure and it was just shocking how he didn't ever retaliate! But the reason I tell this is because after we endured all the crap we did that day we got home and "buzz buzz" we get a text and the text is from a former investigator we met my first 2 days here in Hutch and we never got to have a real sit down lesson with her. But she said i'm ready and want to try out your church! it was so cool! 

I am so sorry this is so long i didn't even realize i knew this many words but hey i love you all! Have a BALLER week! 

Nothing we do is normal....... even when we try!

This week was really solid! We have got a lot of work done and had a whole bunch of fun! So  Tuesday night is where ill kinda start hahaha so we play bball every Tues night here and this week we got 5 investigators there and it was super solid to help them with fellowship and getting to know people! Then Wednesday we went out to a tiny place called Arlington with a member for lunch and yoooooo..... their food was FIRE I had a roast beef sandwich smothered in gravy and then a thing of peach pie  sorry im drooling again.... 

we were out knocking doors and we knocked into these people and one of them is an ex lds member who's now a minister (id be lying if i said this is the first guy I met like that).... so one thing leads to the next and were just laying everything we can on this dude to help him feel the spirit again but hes not having it but his Girlfriend really likes what we're saying! But then all of a sudden you could see something in his head just switch and he started pleading the case of the trinity less and less and I'm pretty sure hes confused with what he believes now and wants to come back! That's was gnarly! 
Then another day we were out in the who knows where of our area and we just start knocking doors that are about a quarter mile apart and we ran into this GIANT Amish community! It was Gnarly! They lived in GIANT houses yo! Like good guac they have too much room! #lifegoals We met our friend Roman again and he said he wanted a church tour and so we had a member pick him up and we went over there and had that. But its hard cuz he speaks only spanish so i have to remember everything ive been taught which helps a good bit but then conversation mode on Google Translate saves lives! He loved the church! He ended up coming to church with us Sunday and we had a lady translate for him for Sacrament meeting and then we just had our own 2nd and 3rd hour with a member who speaks pretty much only spanish hahahahaa it was so awesome!!!!!  When we were done we invited him to be baptized cuz the spirit was crazy strong! And he said i already have..... so we asked in what church and he said THIS ONE! Our jaw dropped hahaah it was crazy so we got his Bday and Full name and asked the clerk to check and yep he was haha! Crazy! He was baptized 50 years ago in Mexico! Him, his wife and daughter so that was an adventure and a half! Yah that pretty much sums up this week. Oh yah we were driving to a dinner and we saw these zebras and stuff on the side of the road hahaha so we went and took pics with them! #onlyinKS  okay I love you all! Sorry this ones so long

Really..... snow in april...... 🌨❄

This week was wack.... it felt so long for some reason! Well anyways we started the week out with having Zone Conference! We had a General Authority come to the mission!  Elder Brent H Nielsen he is the Head of the missionary Department! So that was legendary! We did a lot of talking about finding through members! He said members are FULL TIME FINDERS and MISSIONARIES ARE FULL TIME TEACHERS! That's crazy hahaha how legendary would that be?? It was a really really good meeting! We are getting Instagram here soon so that's lit!
 But we were having a tough week we had to drop a couple more investigators because they became very comfortable in what they were doing and didn't want to strive for more so we had to drop them it was sad! So we felt like trash and prayed and asked God for a miracle and you know what we hadn't even finished the prayer and i felt the phone buzz in my pocket so when we get up i checked it and a member said "Hey there will be some non members at church tonight for mutual" so we were like heck yah lets see who! And it was actually this family where the husband is a member who just moved back from Phoenix and his wife and 4 kids ages 16-10 all were learning about the church there and want to continue here!!!!! What a MIRACLE! So dope! 

HOLY HECK we went to some po-dunk tiny towns this week hahaha i thought huh this is what I expected Kansas to actually be like! I'm so happy I was wrong lol! We had a lesson with this lady Tina and she is so freaking awesome!!!! She is so solid her and her boys are gonna keep meeting with us so that was super awesome! We have been doing a lot of work with members who haven't cane in a while and things like that! So yah that's been so awesome! Lol we met this dude who was saying his church has been around longer than ours and i was like oh yah when did it start? He said well when Christ got here and i was like oh that's it! Well we've been around since Adam so next point hahahaha it was so funny! Then he starts quoting scriptures wrong and says scriptures are here for our own interpretation hahahahaha bro it literally says NO PRIVATE INTERPRETATION! We also had a scheduled "discussion" more like bash so we went to this guys house again and he actually had his mind changed about the trinity lol! It shocked us completely hahaha usually they know their wrong but wont change and he totally did! 

But can y'all tell me why one day it was 89° and literally  the next day its 27° and snowing?!?!?!?!?!?!! What the actually heck? Well i love you all and I promise my next email will make you laugh a lot!
