Being Persistent lets you get it BUT consistency is how you keep it

This week was nothing spectacular to sit and write about. BUT i say that loosely cuz lots of awesome things happened and I learned a lot of who I am and how I work...... but FIRST i gotta shout out Dad and Aubs for their birthday! Happy 25th birthday ðŸ˜‰ and 21st birthday.
But yah so I got to go on exchanges with one of my Zone Leaders Elder Jones and hes from Summerlin so that's pretty cool we know lots of mutual people.  But he taught me a lot about being a missionary and things like that. Hes a convert to the church of about 5 years and is super cool so he explained a lot of things from the person being taught side of the teaching. It was wayyyy cool i don't think he even realized how much it helped me hahaha. But that was awesome.
So this week has been pretty dang tough on my head and its been frustrating cuz all i wanna do is go out and work but my head makes me almost wanna be lazy so its frustrating. One day it was pretty darn ridiculous but i prayed and just said hey, so uh you know how bad my head hurts and you know im gonna go work regardless so please provide a miracle please please please. And we went to an appointment and it fell through but i knew we'd see a miracle if i just pushed through and the very first house we knocked in this neighborhood we found a family of 6 who all want to learn and their pretty interested and the dad is actually over the minister section of K State but is curious if we actually have the truth! So that was purty darn gnarly. But yah our Homies Kelsey and Ray are still wanting to get baptized we just have to help them figure out their Sunday work problem so they can come to church. But their on board. Their awesome I love them! But yah so the reason for my title is cuz that's something i've been working on is trying to make EVERY SINGLE SECOND of the day an opportunity to teach by the spirit or be taught by the spirit because times running out and quicker than i though i feel like im only 4 months out but im almost 13 months.... so I want to take advantage of the Spirit this strong while I can! So that explains that and since i've been trying this out we have seen some pretty gnarly results!

*funny story*
So on exchanges we go to teach this person and were having a pretty good lesson on his porch. Then his neighbor comes home and sees us their and I think "oh no this could be really bad or really good" and he pulls out a chair to his porch and listens to the convo about 20 yards away and i look up and he is taking his thumb and sliding it across his throat trying to scare us. Me and Elder Jones both realize and want to ask if that's a threat or a promise and we both get irritated but we don't say anythin, and he does it again...... so we decided to wrap up the lesson like an eggroll and just leave. And as we do the person were teaching says something to the guy and he just starts spitting out all this anti stuff at us and I just wanted to go put this man in his place but luckily the Spirit said don't waste the Lords time with him so we just walk away to get to our car about 3 blocks away. But as were half way there we laughing at the situation trying to bring the spirit back and we are walking down this alley way and we see the dude in his truck and he slams on his breaks and goes in reverse and then drives into the alley way so we just paid minimal attention to him trying to get him to leave us alone and all of a sudden he tries to hit us so we just walk over to this tree where he couldnt' and me fuming trying to stay calm just walks to the corner with Elder Jones and then we sprint to the car when were outta sight and drive off quick. It was so funny and so frustrating!

The reason i shared this is cuz y'all probably know how i would've reacted before my mission and now i had the patience to just walk away from the situation and leave it alone! Hahahaha well i love y'all to pieces!

Also a pic of the gnarly storm we had that was a funnel cloud forming!!!! And the other one is the cold front meeting the warmth!

Really Litt week

So this week was pretty dope! So We will just start on Tuesday. So were sitting in the apartment starting weekly planning and all of a sudden we both just had a feeling we weren't gonna hit our goals if we didn't step it up so we decided to make a couple sacrifices and be all in on our goals. And we decided we'd sacrifice some sleep and we'd stop listening to all music to show the Lord our dedication. And that first day was hard........ but right at the end of the night we met these 2 people who are just dope! They both want to be baptized and they talk about getting married in the temple its awesome! That's not all! Then Wednesday was Zone Conference and that was awesome we talked a lot about unification as a mission! That was an awesome meeting! Then we went all week trying to find new people to teach! And Saturday night comes around and all of our plans fell through and we were like what now......... and the name Becky came into our head. So last time we tried Becky we rolled up to her house and i got to the door maybe a second before Elder Becraft and i see this figure get up from the couch and run behind the open front door..... and so we sat there for like 5 min knocking ringing the doorbell and calling her hahahahahaha and she wouldn't come out but we saw her hair through the window haha. So we decided we would go over and have a "if you don't want us to come by just TELL us" lesson hahahaha and as we get there we knock and her 30 yr old daughter answers and is so excited to see us and tells us she wants us to come back this week! It was pretty awesome honestly! Well that's pretty much my week. Just finding and teaching its been awesome I love it here! I love y'all have an amazing week! Oh and yah that's a spider were holding hahahaha that was right after we were holding a snake and it did its business on Elder Becrafts shoe hahaha.

The 4th of July in Wamego

So this week was pretty cash ðŸ’¸. First we had an Extended MLC where we all got to go down! It was awesome had to be up at 5 and drive all day pretty much hahaha! Luckily were alive! But it was so cool! We talked about what we wanted the mission culture to be for Pres. And Sister McCustions last year!
So here in Wamego they kinda go all out... so this small town of about 3,500 people grows to about 50,000 on the fourth because everyone from all the small non existing towns around comes and all of Manhattan (where k-state is) all comes over!!! It was so dope!!! Literally we had to have talked to 5,000 or more people about the gospel! It was dope! We found these pretty cool members at the parade and we got to talk to them for a good bit they're from KC! (Thats that squad pic)  But this week was pretty awesome we found 4 way solid people!
We are so stoked for this upcoming week! Because we know if we just stay diligent and have faith and not give in to Satan's stupid obvious tricks then we will be blessed! Its dope! Well my year mark was on Thursday and that was a little weird but it honestly was a big kick in the booty cuz Im coming up on my last of everything so it honestly was a huge motivator to be the true disciple Christ needs me to be while Im here for this short time in Kansas!
*Funny story*
So we decided to head out to a small town one day named paxico and that place has about 900 people and we had a couple potential people to teach to see and BOY ILL TELL YOU WHAT that was the first time i ever really felt like i was in Kansas like it was a old western town, surrounded by farmed land, the dudes didn't wear shirts..... it was hilarious. So we knock on this house and this 16 yr old kid comes out and we kinda just chit chat with him and we invite him to church and he explains why he will never go to church again! And before we start to leave he asked if we wanted to see his racing lawn-mower he had ðŸ˜‚😂😂 so of course we couldn't pass this opportunity up and we went and saw it he also had a 4 wheeler, a mini chopper, and a mini mini chopper. All that wouldn't work! Hahaha it was so funny. Anyways well i love you all and please stay safe!

W-awe-mee-go

This week was filled with lots of goodbyes and lots of hello's too! I got to say lots of goodbyes out there in Hutch! It was pretty darn sad to leave i love that place so much its so litty! But Wamego is pretty Cash too! The ward here is awesome! Since we whitewashed in we spent most of the time introducing ourselves to the members of the ward! Its been awesome! We got to clean out our area book and everything too! So we found out Wamego has the littest firework show in the whole wide state of Kansas hahaha so this next week will be really cool! Our town goes from about 3000 to about 50k for the fourth of July! Its gonna be awesome haha! But yah our week has been filled with putting faith in all we do cuz honestly we know nothing about the area so we have been trying to act on EVERY SINGLE prompting! Its awesome! Oh yah when we were driving to Wamego we got to stop in Junction City and oh i miss that place too it was awesome its good im in the same zone as it now! Elder Becraft is from Ogden Utah! Hes awesome this transfer is gonna be cash! But yah sorry this week wasn't all that interesting but it was busy busy trying to get familiar with the area! And this area is honestly awesome! Oh yah well I get to speak again on the 15th lol....... well i love y'all so much! And i hit a year this week......... CRAZINESS!

Month #4 in Hutch

This week was crazy...... well there we a couple high points in the week matched by a couple low points! Sooooooo we will start with the rough ones..... well Erika and her daughters dropped us.... we get a text from Kyle saying hey come over for a lesson so we do and everyone's there we sit down and Kyle goes okay so the reason i asked y'all to come over is i have a lot of questions that need answers. So turns out he looked up a ton of Anti websites and spent more time listening about what men who done know anything about our church have to say about it rather than reading and praying to see what God has to say about it. So we get asked all these ridiculous questions and i leave him stumped..... so then he gets frustrated and says well Erika and I have been talking and we don't want you to come by anymore........ and told us we weren't allowed to come by if we were gonna talk religion.... so i just bore my testimony about the Book of Mormon and said "I find it really funny how your willing to see what non Mormons say about my religion but when i start talking about it you stop paying attention. So Kyle that's probably why we've spent more time answering anti questions than going over the doctrine of the church!" Then he got real upset probs cuz the spirit got pretty strong..... but yah that was heart breaking. Now time for the good stuff! So Roman is back from Mexico and we met his Grandson who's dope and so prepared for the gospel, we met this lady named Meagan and she's fantastic! Shes so prepared too! Also we met this guy named Jamie who when we started talking to him we both got the impression hes ready so we invited him to be baptized on 7/7! And he said he will prepare for that! It was so cool! We have seen so many new people be so ready for the gospel this last week! And Mike Williams is going to meet with the Bishop this SSunday about his baptism! So exciting! Such a great week! I love y'all so much! BTW this is the last week before transfers (on June 27) so if you have a letter or anything send it early if not no biggie! Just a heads up! I LOVE Y'all and am so happy to be a missionary there no other thing id rather be doing right now honestly!

11 months already? GOOD GUAC

This week was a fantastic week! We had a lot of fun and got to teach a lot of lessons and find and talk to a lot of really cool people! Well to start off I got to lead a Book of Mormon study with some ward members and a couple investigators! That was fun the usual guy who does it was outta town so i stepped up and took charge haha! Then well i guess another thing that happened was on Wed night we got asked to speak that same Sunday hahahaha of course us missionaries get fallen back on but it was no big deal it was fun! I spoke on the 2 great commandments love God and Love others! It was so cool to go through the week with that in mind! We really got to see what its like to truly love others as yourself. It was cool! My talk in sacrament had to be 25 min long hahahaha I feel bad for the congregation ðŸ˜‚😂
Thursday came and we had a real strong impression to go see this guy Mike Williams who were teaching he used to be a member of the church but wants to come back to the church. So we talked to him and hes been coming to church for the past little bit and has been wanting to get re-baptized since '96 and hasn't felt the desire so we went there and talked to him on what baptism really is and the covenant (promise with us and God) we make when we get baptized. And he looked us in the eyes and said...... Im ready lets do this. And so now he will meet with the bishop and go from there! So awesome! We taught Erika the Plan of Salvation this week and she really really liked it and shes reading in the Book of Mormon and gonna see what God tells her about it! Shes so awesome! That family is so nice and prepared they just need to follow the spirit and not the outside voices. But yah that was the extent of our week and yah it was a blast E. Curtis and I have been putting in a lot of good work and making some really good memories haha! I love y'all so much!
